3. Not Eating Enough Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and veggies have many cardiovascular health benefits. They are rich in fiber and naturally low in fatand cholesterol and contain a variety of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.

Although we are aware of their importance only 10% of adults consume the recommended daily amount in 1.5 or 2 cups fruits as well as 2 to 3 cups vegetable daily. Get the recommended daily amount by filling a half plate with vegetables and fruits when eating meals.

But, remember that you are able to gradually incorporate more vegetables and fruits during the day. Similar to exercise, adding any amount of fruits or vegetables is beneficial.
